Junior Golf

RCGA Future Links Program
Growing-up and playing golf at Fanshawe Golf Club in London Ontario was a unique and outstanding experience. We received excellent instruction from Canadian PGA professionals, participated in club run events and most importantly, I had many friends to play golf with. I had the pleasure to play regularly with a number of very good junior players, and watched up-close the development of Mike Weir.
We were a competitive group at Fanshawe, always playing for some stakes, usually my coke and chocolate bar money. Not much in the grand scheme, but to a 12 year old, it was everything. I absolutely hated to lose and I was not a good loser. My Pro at the time told me that “a good loser is a real loser”. Probably not the best advice to give to an aspiring junior or anyone for that matter. But I understood his point, you have to hate losing to learn how to win.
Golf at Fanshawe influenced the 4 corners of my life, golf taught me about relationships, values, personal goals and commitment.
I am pleased to offer junior programs similar to my first experiences. Click here to learn about our “Introduction to Golf” programs for junior boys and girls aged 7 to 13 years at Pheasant Run Golf Club.
