Jim loves Freddie

April 9, 2008

Ahhh, The Masters. Spring, the history and that wonderful golf course – Augusta National. Oh yeah, and Jim Nantz’s sugary voice grinding my brain like an Easter weekend chocolate overdose.

Interesting fact; Jim Nantz and Fred Couples were roommates at the University of Houston. It’s true. Jim usually mentions it 20 times during The Masters broadcast. Yes. It’s true. Jim Nantz has a man-crush for his buddy Fred Couples.

The 1992 Champion, Fred Couples, has seen his game recover with a recent T-4 finish at The Shell Houston Open. A fact that Jim Nantz will be sure to weave into the broadcast along with plenty of college roommate stories. Suddenly, I really like Johnny Miller.

Johnny Miller? You must have mute on the T.V when you are watching the golf. “The club was wide open at impact!” How the hell do you know Johnny, I think the club was moving a little too fast for you to see over the T.V! Brutal….Love ya Jimmy!

I always have the mute on my TV. My inter-monologue is far more interesting than any Network commentator. You should hear it. Beautiful thing.
